Overview:

Though this area is definitely in Toronto, it is its own self-contained community - similar to a lakeside beach resort - with one main street down the center. There are houses (spectacular homes!), stores, shops, and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes all along Queen Street. This area is totally packed in the summer months; the main attire seems to be bathing suits and casual tank tops, with roller bladers, cyclists and skate boarders sharing the streets with the vehicular traffic. Which usually doesn't move due to congestion along Queen Street. (Note: If you drive here, park your car and just leave it for the day.) But the best part of the area is the waterfront with its miles of wide sandy beach with well maintained boardwalk and bike path, miles of park and picnic area, a huge municipal swimming pool and usually wall to wall people. However you can still get away to some secluded areas along the rocks for quiet reading and sunbathing.
