Overview:
One
of the most spectacular events of a Toronto summer is the
annual Benson & Hedges
Symphony of Fire. Every year various countries present a
musical fireworks
extravaganza that brightens the night sky over Ontario Place
and the entire
city waterfront with dazzling colors and soaring sound. The
event starts mid-June
and continues on selected nights until mid-July. Though
people pay for ‘front
row’ seats on the piers of Ontario Place, every inch of
shoreline in packed
with viewers. Note: Do not expect to drive anywhere along
the Lakeshore following
the approx. 11:30 pm end of the concert - traffic is at a
stand-still for
at least an hour. Take a tip - two
of the best vantage points for this sound
and light extravaganza is atop the CN Tower or on one of the
Mariposa Harbour
cruise boats.
