> Yorkville
Centred around Cumberland Street, Yorkville Ave and
Hazelton Lane, this is Toronto’s favorite shopping
district—if you’re in the money, that is. The boutiques
here are some of the most exclusive in the country. An
interesting bit of history: back in the 60s this area was a
hippy haven, with love children hanging out everywhere. But
you won’t see them now. In 40 years this neighbourhood has
morphed into a place where money is culture and style is
everything. However, even if you aren’t looking for a new
Chanel suit, it’s worth a wander for the independent art
galleries, cinemas, and lovely, but pricey, outdoor cafes.
Take the subway to the Bloor/Yonge station and walk west on
Bloor.
