> Little Italy
In Little Italy you will find
the First Portuguese Canadian Cultural Centre and the Portugal
Village shopping district. This neighbourhood is actually home
to a mix of Italians and Portuguese, and new immigrants from
other countries are also moving into the area. This is one of
Toronto’s most multicultural neighborhoods.
If you want to shop Italian
then head toward College Street, between Shaw Street and
Euclid Avenue. There’s pasta just like momma used to make
and fashions straight out of Europe—lots of leather products
too. If you’re more interested in the Portuguese experience
then go to the Portuguese Village on Dundas Street. It has
fresh fruit and vegetable vendors, bakeries, cafes and
well-priced seafood restaurants.
Take the College, Dundas or
Bathurst streetcar and tell the driver that you want to get
off in Little Italy.
