> Harbourfront
When summer brings its humid
wrath to Toronto, there’s no better place to be than
wandering along the Harbourfront walkway -- an ice cream in
hand and wallowing in the cool breeze coming off Lake Ontario.
But there’s a lot more to this place than waterfront
property, as most of Toronto’s much bragged about highlights
are here.
In this neighborhood you will
find the new Air Canada Center (featuring basketball and
hockey), Skydome (baseball and football), CN Tower and the
Antique Market. You will also find excellent outdoor patios
with transient entertainment, such as jugglers, performance
artists and musicians. And if you get bored, which is
unlikely, you can catch a ferry across the lake to Centre
Island, where there are beaches, parks and roller coasters.
To get to the Harbourfront,
take the subway to Union Station (and make sure you have a
look around there), then catch the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to
Queens Quay.
