Centre Island

1. Bicycle rentals are plentiful and allow you to tour the entire island, including the homes/cottages where residents live permanently.

2. I wouldn't recommend swimming at the beach. 

3. There are lots of picnic tables, barbecues, and playground equipment for children (free), in addition to Centreville amusement park (extra fee for rides); there's also ball diamonds, tennis courts, and fields for organized games.

4. There are fast food establishments and one licensed restaurant that overlooks the harbor - I'd definitely recommend bringing a picnic lunch.
