Overview Tips
Virtual
Tour
Want to experience a taste of country living while
visiting the city? Black Creek Pioneer Village recreates the
past with over 35 carefully restored 1860’s shops and
homes, staffed with costumed hosts who help guide you
through Canadian history. Talk to the blacksmith, the
cabinetmaker or others about their crafts. Visit the doctor’s
house, Roblin’s mill & water wheel, or the local
school as you stroll through this 19th century rural
Victorian community. Don’t forget to sample some homemade
bread or other traditional baked goodies.
Throughout the year, Pioneer Village plays host to
various special events. Some of these activities include a
Spring Fair, Fiddlers contest, Gardening Pot Pourri, Craft
demonstrations, and Pioneer Festival. From November 18th
through December 31st, the Village celebrates
"Christmas Remembered", a Victorian Christmas
complete with evergreen garlands, handmade tree ornaments,
mulled cider, mincemeat puddings, glowing fireplaces and
many other traditional holiday activities. Visitors can also
experience Christmas by lamplight, where over 200 oil lamps
illuminate the Village.
Parking is $6 per car/day; $35 per month.
