Overview:
The stately and venerable Massey Hall, built during the
1920s, is still hailed as a marvel of acoustic perfection
and ornate Art Deco-style decor. It was designed as a
showpiece for the Toronto Symphony, now ensconced in Roy
Thomson Hall, and is used today for various concerts,
musicals, dance companies and touring singers. For instance,
local troubadour Gordon Lightfoot books the hall for an
annual week of sold out concerts; Jann Arden will hit the
stage for two nights; Scottish comedian Billy Connolly is
booked for a one-night stand. Designed for a full symphony,
this stately ornate palace is the perfect venue to hear your
favorite solo singer or rock band. In fact, who wouldn’t
want to appear at Massey Hall?
